Lawyer Ernie Palanan, the spokesman of the Bangon Baungon, has sent a letter to NIA-BRIS officials in Sitio Patpat, Baungon, Bukidnon demanding the minutes of the consultation held on Oct. 25.

Palanan asked to include the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Irrigation Administration and Metro Pacific Water Consortium Incorporated for the siphoning of water from NIA which is supposed to be intended for the farmers.

He also asked the previous minutes of the meeting of the Irrigators Association Federation held at their office on Sept. 28 and the earlier meetings.

“I am going to use the public documents for reference and legal purposes deemed proper,” he said.

He said his request is being anchored on the Freedom of Information as approved by the President of the Republic of the Philippines and on the Citizen Charter Act.

“May this request be given appropriate action based on the number of hours as set forth by law. Please contact me on the afore-mentioned numbers found on this letter request,” Palanan’s demand letter reads in part.

Palanan’s letter is also copy furnished to the Office of the President, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Presidential Action Center, and to the NIA-10 regional director.
