FDC Misamis conducts medical mission

MORE than 300 Camiguingnons have benefited from a joint medical-dental mission by the Gotaniun family-led FDC Misamis Power Corporation (FDC Misamis) and the Provincial Government of Camiguin held at Purok Lagundi, Barangay Poblacion in Mambajao, Camiguin recently.

The mission’s components include: basic health consultation for children and adults; provision of basic medicines; dental check-up and tooth extraction; basic eye care services and provision of reading glasses to senior citizens; and kids’ feeding program, proper handwashing drill, proper tooth brushing drill and provision of hygiene kits.

Salamat kaayo nga nag-anhi ang FDC Misamis sa amoang lugar,” said 29-year-old mother, Mary Joy Mabayo, from Barangay Quipasan in Mambajao town.

FDC Misamis, a subsidiary of FDC Utilities, Inc. (FDCUI), the power and utilities arm of conglomerate Filinvest Development Corporation.

The Camiguin Electric Cooperative, Inc., the lone power distributor in the island-province, is among the firm’s customers.

FDC Misamis’ Corporate Social Responsibility framework encompasses the four Es – Education for Empowerment, Environmental Stewardship, Economic Enhancement and Enhanced Healthcare.

“We’re grateful that FDC Misamis came and held a medical-dental mission like this,” said Camiguin Gov. Maria Luisa “Baby” Romualdo. (pr)
