MISAMIS Oriental–Fire broke out and razed to the ground seven houses near the Balingoan port and bus terminal in Bauk-Bauk, Balingoan town on Sunday night.

Some 10 families were displace as a result of the fire, according to Insp. Danilo Popero, the town’s chief of police.

SF04 Clement Talines of the Balingoan fire station said the fire destoyed some P650 thousand in structures.

Talines said the fire broke out at around 10:25 pm, and firefighters placed the situation under control after 25 minutes.

Most houses destroyed by the fire were made of highly combustible materials, said Talines.

He said the fire allegedly started at a store owned by one Wilfredo Dorano, and it quickly spread to adjacent houses.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Talines however said he suspected the fire was a result of faulty electrical wirings.
