FIRE broke out ay NHA Kauswagan yesterday morning, razing to the ground four houses and three others.
Officials said no one was hurt in the fire that started at around 8:57 am at Block 23, Phase 1, NHA.
Chief Insp. Rommel Villafuerte, Cagayan de Oro district fire marshal, said the fire caused some P300 thousand in structural damages.
Initial investigation showed that the fire started at the house of one Santiago Lungay.
Villafuerte said there were witnesses who saw two children playing with a lighter inside Lungay’s house shortly before the fire broke out.
The fire quickly spread and destoyed other houses owned by Myrna Luna and occupied by Bebeth Puspos, Vicky Maudo, and Teresta Sabanal.
Firefighters put the situation under control at around 9:17 am, and then declared a “fire-out” at around 9:37 am. (nitz arancon and lito rulona)
