The city celebrated the 118th Philippine Independence Day, yesterday, by holding a flag caravan which was routed along the seven historial sites around the city.

This year’s celebration carries the theme, “Kalayaan 2016: Pagkakaisa, Pag-aambagan, Pagsulong.”

The flag caravan started at the City Hall executive building, the flag caravan then dropped by at Maternity Hospital, where the Club Popular was historically situated, and at Casa del China Ygua or brick house in Velez Street.

The caravan then proceeded to Divisoria area from the monument of El Pueblo A Sus Heroes, Magsaysay Monument, Kiosko Kagawasan, Justiniano Roa Borja Monument, Rizal Monument and ended at the big flag pole at Divisoria, where the flag raising ceremony was held.

The flag caravan was spearheaded by the Resculine Rescue Riders Association together with the participants of Freedom Run, the Army and National Police. (cio)
