Arturo Bayocot, regional director of the Department of Education (Deped), said officials were expecting the enrollees for kindergarten, elementary, junior and senior high  to reach 1.4 million in Region 10.

In 2018, the number of enrollees in northern Mindanao registered at 1.2 million.

Bayocot could not say how many students trooped to the public schools during the opening of classes yesterday. He said the Deped regional office expect the officials reports from the various school divisions to be sent this Friday.

“Kamolo pa man sab ang enrollment while nag-start na ang atong klasi,” Bacoyot said.
