A STILL unidentified man stabbed and killed a woman while she was bringing her grandchild to school in Bulua yesterday morning. The attack took place less than 100 meters from a police station.

PO3 Norbert Ian Zafra said Nancy Lumactod, 53, of Zone 6, Bulua, was stabbed to the neck at around 6:30 am while she and her seven-year old granddaughter were on their way to the Bulua Central School.

Lumactod was attacked near the Bulua police station by a man who had a companion. The two wore hats and jackets, and fled on a black and red motorcycle.

Zafra said Lumactod was rushed to the Polymedic Plaza in Kauswagan but she was declared dead on arrival at around 6:55 am by Dr.  Grace Dixon.

Police said police found and kept the knife used in the attack, and the school bag of Lumactod’s granddaughter.

Zafra said investigators were still trying to determine the motive for the killing.

A witness said the suspects fled on a motorcycle towards the direction of Iponan. (nitz arancon)
