The founder and chair emeritus of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, witnessed during his visit in Jolo, Sulu the full support of the local communities in the region especially in maximizing the opportunities offered by the institution to them despite the challenges they are experiencing. At the branch, Dr. Alip had the chance to talk to the newly recognized clients who availed their first-ever microfinance loan at CARD. Moreover, Dr. Alip (in the photo, standing) attended a center meeting in the area to personally meet CARD clients and discuss the future plans of the institution. Opening a CARD Bank branch in the region was the major announcement of the founder, which made the clients and staff hopeful and excited to more micro-banking services they can experience. The expansion plan is part of CARD MRI’s commitment to reaching more unbanked communities and providing them with various interventions to be able to get out of the claws of poverty. To date, CARD, Inc. has disbursed a total of P9.28 million worth of microfinance loans to 1,573 clients in Jolo with 100% repayment rate. (CARD/PR)
