The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban (RCEU) of D-3870 kicked off the new Rotary Year with a well-attended Community Service Project at Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. Dubbed “GUGMA UG GASA” (Love and Giving), the project was in response to the clarion call of DG BANS IBRAHIM to celebrate children’s day in July. 19 ladies led by Pres. Rosalinda Caragos trooped to the Patag Child Development Center on July 1 where they were greeted by Teacher Mary Annabelle Reyes-Go and the parents who greeted the Rotarians with their welcoming smiles.

What a fun day it was for the little ones to receive gifts, hygiene kits, tumblers and yummy food on that special day. Donated for the center’s use were a whiteboard, bookshelf, table, television, sound system and school supplies which were particularly requested by Teacher Annabelle. Special thanks to caring Rotarians for the donations.

The kids were also taught how to wash their hands properly. Seeing the happy faces of the little ones made it a wonderful and productive Monday morning. Thank you to all the Rotarians who came and showed their support, aside from those mentioned above were VP Imee Van Der Born, PAG Ella Yu, PAG Lina Estrella Faburada, Rtn. Vicky Lim, PP Shirley Escaño, PE Daisy Tiu, Rtn. Georgie Tan, Rtn. Lina Kwong, Asst. Sec. Christy Jugador, PAG Arlyn Niere, PP Ophelia dela Cerna and Sec. Minnie Talimio. was chaired by Rtn.
