COTABATO CITY — Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Arm m) said Wednesday all the provincial governors of the region are backing the presidential bid of Manuel “Mar” Roxas.

Hataman is the Liberal Party (LP) chair for the ARMM which is composed of the provinces of Ma-guindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

He said as party members, all the governors and other local officials belonging to the ruling party “will support the LP presidential bet.”

In a statement to the local media here, Hataman said Maguindanao Governor Esmael Toto Manguda-datu and his political siblings, Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan, Jr., Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr., Tawi-Tawi Gov. Nurbert Sahali, Basilan Gov. Jum Akbar and Tawi-Tawi Rep. Ruby Sahali met with Roxas during a dinner meeting in Manila.

Aside from party affiliations as the reason of support, Hataman said Roxas has provided all the support for the region’s peace and development.

He cited the political will of the Aquino government in reforming ARMM which used to be the corruption capital of the country.

Also present to pledge support for Roxas were LP members Maguindanao 1st district Rep. Bai Sandra Sema, Maguindanao 2nd district Rep. Zajid Mangu-dadatu, Sulu Rep. Tupay Loong, Lanao del Sur Rep. Pangalian Balindong, Ba-silan Rep. Jim Hataman and Anak Mindanao partylist Rep. Djalia Hata-man. (pna)
