Another highanking New People’s Army rebel has returned to the folds of the law, military authorities said.

Two high ranking members New Peoples’ Army Terrorists  and one other has surrender with five assorted high-powered firearms, magazines and ammunition to Lt. Col. Rommel Pagayon of 26th Infantry Battalion in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur at around 11 am, last Thursday.

This was according to 1st Lieutenant Tere Ingente, spokesperson of the 4th Infantry Diamond Division.

Pagayon identified the former rebels as Jeffrey D Mondejar alias Bars, vice commander of Regional Sentro de Grabedad Compaq; Jaica G. Precioso alias IC, platoon medic of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda Banglas of Guerilla Front Committee 88, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee; and Apatan S. Agsubo alias Tan, member of SYP2, GFC 34 of Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.

Surrendered firearms include: one AK 47 rifle, one grenade, one carbine rifle, one M16 rifle, and one caliber .38 revolver.

The rebels heard a radio announcement on the different programs of the government and were convinced of the sincerity of the Duterte administration to help the former rebels. Especially when they found out about their former comrades were invited to Malacañang Palace to dine with our President, added Centino.

Earlier this month, 123 surrenders of 4th Infantry division were invited by the President for a three-day tour in Manila and a dinner at Malacañang Palace.

Meanwhile, Major Gen. Ronald Villanueva, 4ID commander said: “There is a life far more progressive and peaceful than the life being experience by the NPA terrorists in the mountains. Our president is extending his hands to help them and to find extraordinary ways to encourage them to lay down their arms and return to the mainstream society.”
