Jun Lino Bacus, of the city’s Public Services Division said the new trash collection scheme will be implemented beginning Monday next week.

This is in accordance to the city’s directive, under city mayor Celso Regencia, he added.

He added the collections of the city’s garbage will no longer be done house to house but at each barangay materials recovery facility. Funds for said BMRF for the barangays have already been downloaded.

He discouraged residents not to continue the practice of hanging their garbage in the gates of their houses

The city, to note, has attempted last year to implement the “no segregation no collection policy.”

To note too, the city’s garbage has grown threefold with the people from Marawi coming over because of the war.

The city’s struggle with garbage collection more than doubled and innovations had to be made and proper implementation of the “no segregation no collection policy.” This is in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Program, Bacus said.
