Iligan City — The city has been placed in full security alert status together with neighboring cities in the region following intelligence reports from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police that expert Maute-Isis bombers have managed to position themselves in several key areas in Mindanao.
This was confirmed by PNP spokesperson Jovane Cabusas who added that not only this city is in full alert, but other areas as well.
This confirmation comes on the heels of Rep. Frederick Siao of the city’s lone district report to the House of Representatives that intelligence reports of the AFP and PNP of the “presence of Isis bomb experts positioned in some areas in Mindanao plotting to generate widespread panic and terror among the populace.”
Earlier, two alleged members of an Islamic State inspired group were reportedly killed in a shootout with security forces in Tacurong City.
