Over the weekend, City Information Officer Jose Pantoja said the complaint will be submitted to the Office of the President through the Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Martin Andanar.

“This will be done immediately upon the arrival of City Mayor Celso Regencia, who, as of press time, is still in Manila attending a seminar with the Department of Interior and Local Government,” he added.

The DPWH, to note, is currently doing some civil works in long stretches of roads in the central area of the city, thus blocking major city streets and causing traffic congestion particularly in Mariano Badelles St. and other streets near the area, even as part of the C3 or circumferential road too at Del Carmen is also closed to buses as the owner of the land there, Uriel Borja, has made some barricades so that only light vehicles can pass through it.

Pantoja added that the DPWH just proceeded with doing such work of “destroying the roads” without as much as a courtesy from the local government unit. He mentioned an Engr. Ali of the said government agency as one of those answerable for the present sorry state of the traffic here and even enjoined the current Sangguniang Panlungsod to take actions on the matter.
