Earlier on Wednesday, the busted pipes were fixed and residents then were able to experience water coming from their faucets only to get disappointed again as another pipe at Tominobo got busted again.

Yesterday, the water supply in the homes of many residents have returned. Councilor Renato Ancis, chair of the committee on water said the Iligan City Waterworks System led by Engr. Josephus Albao did their best to address the situation.

With the recent experience though, Ancis said, the city is studying the possibility of a Public-Private Partnership.

This is not really a privatization of the water supply system here in the strict sense as ownership will still be with the city; it is only the services that will be rendered by some private company, Ancis explained.
