THE Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) on Thursday apprehended an American who is wanted in the US for a case filed because of his failure to register as a sex offender.
Immigration officer Bobby Raquepo said the American, 62-year-old Michael James Wuest, a resident of Monta Vista Subdivision in Lumbia here, was taken by the BID from his Lumbia home at around 2 pm.
The American was brought to the BID office where he was still being held at presstime.
Raquepo said Wuest is wanted because of his case before the Magistrate Court of Bexar County in Texas.
Capt. Jerson Estanilla of the Lumbia police said the BID coordinated with the police precinct before Immigration officers pounced on Wuest. He however said the operation did not require police assistance.
