Implementation of primary care benefits in barangays seen

WORKING to address the health needs of its constituents, the city government will be collaborating with barangays for the implementation of Philhealth’s Primary Care Benefit Package and other programs.
The City Council has enacted this week an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding with barangay governments for the purpose.
Under the memorandum, the barangay shall provide a suitable space for the establishment of its health center and allow the city-designated health personnel free and unfettered access to use, at all times, the health center to deliver basic health services to barangay residents.
Barangays are also required to prioritize the delivery of PCB1 and MCP that may be rolled out to bonafide sponsored program members under the guidance of the city government, Department of Social Welfare and Development’s 4Ps program, and National Household Targeting System-Poverty Reductions.
