THE SON of the late Tagoloan Mayor Paulino Emano, Paul Richard Emano, has cried foul and said he felt insulted by the decision of his cousin, Board Member Heckert Emano, of not choosing him to run as town mayor –– to replace his dead father.

After Paulino’s death, the younger Emano expected that he will be chosen by Heckert and the party to replace the position which was left by his father due to his death –– of being vice-mayor. But he was wrong.

“After my dad’s 40 days, I went to Tito Dongkoy and Governor Bambi to ask for their permission that I will be taking charge of the position that was left by my dad. They told me that they will wait for the party’s decision, so I waited, and just got the news that Heckert and his dad Hernando Emano, rejected the idea of choosing as the replacement of my father. I don’t understand,” Paul said.

He then added Heckert allegedly believes that he would still win in the election without him as the vice-mayor and instead prefers if he vacates the position.

Basi’g wala sya’y kumpyansa kanako,” lamented Paul.

In the previous interview with this paper, Heckert explained that they chose to vacate the position because they wanted to give mayor Paulino the legacy that is due him being the mayor of Tagoloan for 22 years.

But for Paul, this is a big insult to them and believes that his dad is not happy right now knowing that his son was not given the position that is supposedly due him.

Kung naka storya pa to akong daddy sigurado ko nga iyang ibilin ang posisiyon kanako, apan dinalian ang iyang pagkamatay,” said Paul.

According to Paul, the previous plan was that he would be running as mayor, but his dad asked him to let Heckert run instead “kay naghangyo man sila. Iyang daddy nga si Hernado nga si Heckert lang sa ipadagan.

Paul chose to obey his father.

“I wanted the truth to prevail. Wala gyud sila nanaghid kanamo, being kami ang family sa among daddy. Mura sila’g nahakog sa posisyon,” Paul told Gold Star Daily.

Despite this, however,  Paul clarified he would still be supporting Bambi’s gubernatorial campaign because he believes that Gov. Emano was just afraid that Heckert will back out if they insist with the original plan.

In their rallies, they kept on mentioning that Heckert did not ask permission from them.

Hernando Emano is a half-brother of Vicente Emano and the deceased Paulino Emano.
