City Mayor Oscar Moreno warmly welcomed the delegation led by Mr. Masakazu Okuno, director of the International Affairs Bureau of Yokohama, Japan and Mr. Tomihara Takayuki, project formulation advisor of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines Office.

“I am hoping that this meeting will yield productive endeavors that are mutually beneficial between the governments of the Philippines and Japan, which has a long history of support and assistance to Mindanao,” Mayor Moreno said after thanking Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for selecting Cagayan de Oro as one of the four pilot cities in Mindanao where JICA would extend its project funding and development assistance.

It can be recalled that Prime Minister Abe visited Davao City early this month upon the invitation of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The business matching event was jointly collaborated by Ms. Nimfa Along Albania and Ms. Eileen San Juan of the Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center, and Dep’t. of Trade and Industry Misamis Oriental provincial director Ma. Eliza Pabillore. pr
