Authorities identified the suspect as Elford Besario, 51, a resident of Sitio Punta in Barangay Macabalan.

The victim, Romeo Besario, 59, and a neighbor of the suspect, succumbed to a single stab wound to the chest.

In an interview with the suspect, he said he regretted stabbing the victim. He said he was so drunk when the incident happened.

He said in the evening prior to the killing, he was with other friends in a drinking session. He said they emptied three of the four long neck bottles of liquor.

Natulog na dayon ko pero pagka buntag nakamata ko sa kasaba ni uncle ug mga kauban nga nag inum pud diay gitiwas nila among giinum,” Besario said.

He said, he told the victim to lower their voices. Instead of heeding his request, the victim challenged him to a fight.

Besario said upon hearing his uncle, he immediately went to the kitchen, took a knife and stabbed his uncle.

After the incident, the suspect said he hurriedly went out from the house, rode a trisikad, and surrendered himself to the police.

Besario asked forgiveness to the family members of the victim and said he is prepared to face the consequences of what he did.
