Lanao Sur farmers receive new farming equipment

UPON the request of Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr. of Lanao del Sur, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAF-Armm) gave farming machineries, hybrid rice seeds, and Urea fertilizers to accredited farmers’ cooperatives in Lanao del Sur on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Provincial Capitol Compound, Marawi City.

Present during the turnover ceremonies were Governor Adiong, Armm Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, DAF-Armm Regional Secretary Alexander G. Alonto, Jr., DAF Lanao del Sur Provincial Director Pangalian A. Balindong, Jr., some of the mayors of the province, employees of DAF-Armm and the Provincial Capitol, and beneficiaries of the DAF program.

Four farm tractors with complete accessories, 13 floating tillers, 10 cassava graters with presser, four corn shellers, one hammer mill, five corn planters, 3,500 bags of hybrid rice seeds, and 7,000 bags of Urea fertilizers were distributed by RG Hataman and Governor Adiong.

Governor Adiong said that it is imperative to develop farmlands in his province as he wants Lanao del Sur to be the future producer and supplier of agricultural crops Mindanao.

RG Hataman said he cannot thank President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino, III for all the programs and projects he brought down to Armm to ensure the development and progress of the region.

Regional Secretary Alonto and Director Balindong said they are fortunate to be working under a dynamic leader such as RG Hataman who is continuously supportive of the agricultural sector of Armm. pr
