THE trough of a low-pressure area yesterday brought cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over some parts of Mindanao, particularly in Caraga, Davao, and Soccsksargen.

Many areas of the country also experienced rainy weather due to the low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the low-pressure area was spotted 960 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, as of yesterday morning.

But as of 3:55 pm, Pagasa said it terminated the thunderstorm warning for many areas as the low-pressure area moved away except in the Pampanga,  Tarlac, Bataan and Zambales  areas that experienced moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds.
