Macabalan woman dies in Balingoan road mishap

A 33-YEAR-OLD woman died on the spot when a motorcycle she and her husband were riding was sideswiped by a speeding trailer truck on a highway section in Barangay Lapinig, Balingoan, Misamis Oriental over the weekend.

Police identified the woman as Queenie Saraos, a mother of two from Barangay Macabalan, this city. She died right there and then due to a head injury.

Saraos was rushed to the Talisayan provincial hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival

Saraos’s husband, Ardee, suffered minor bruises.

The Saraoses were heading home when they met the accident Friday night.

Police identified the truck driver as Marvin Siit, 33, of Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Siit, who was detained at Balingoan municipal police station, is facing a case for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
