Cagayan de Oro fire marshal Allan Gabot  identified the fatalities as 64-year-old Bomediano Ramoga, a person with disability, and his 11-year-old grandchild Chester Ramoga, an elementary grader at the Canitoan Elementary School.

Investigators said Bomediano’s widow Corazon personally identified her deceased husband and grandson.

The two victims were found by the fire fighters inside what used to be a toilet. They were charred beyond recognition.

Corazon said she went out to ask their neighbors for help.

“Imbis mobalik ko kay akong pukawon ang aron ana ug apo, dili na man makaya tungod kay dako na man ang kalayo,” said Corazon.

Gabot said Corazon had a sari-sari store that had highly combustible materials like cooking fuel.

Investigators placed the damages caused by the 30-minute fire at  P200 thousand.
