Chief Insp. Ariel Philip Pontillas, chief of the Agora police, identified the suspects as Alexander Teves, 53, and his sons Marlon, 26, and Mark,  25, of Purok 3, Gusa.

Pontillas identified the dead as Riste Sanguenza, 50, and his nephew Lan Leonard Leonar, 31, of the same place.

Police said they would press charges against the Teveses for double murder.

But Alexander’s wife Anecita said her husband and children were innocent, and merely defended themselves from intruders.

Marlon, one of the suspects, said Sanguenza and Leonar barged into their home and started beating his mother up at around 5:40 pm.

“Gisulong man mi nila ug misulod gyud sila sa  among balay ug ilang gitabangan ug kulata among mama, mao tong among gidepensa ang among mama,” Marlon said.

Anecita said Sanguenza and Leonar had had a drink too many when they allegedly attacked her inside her house.
