Authorities identified the dead man as 58-year old Rosito Hunayon of Barangay Indahag, this city.

His widow Emelita said Hunayon started to suffer from depression after he lost his job as a guard at a subdivision in Barangay Macasandig last year.

She said Hunayon started as a maintenance officer who was turned into a subdivision guard after the 2011 storm “Sendong” devastation in the city.

Last year, she said, the subdivision contracted the services of another security agency. “Mao to nawala siya,” Emelita said.

Before her husband’s death, Hunayon had a sudden behavioral change. She said he had seemed to be “out of his mind” and always stayed out late at night.

The man was last seen on the the riverbank under the Kagayanon Bridge on Sunday afternoon. No one saw him after that.

Emelita said she was with Hunayon at the San Antonio Church in Nazareth earlier that day.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives’ medical officer, Christian Caballes, ruled out the possibility of foul play, saying examination results showed that Hunayon drowned.
