A construction worker is now the subject of a police manhunt after killing a fellow worker on Sunday at 1 am at Barangay Canitoan.

Major Ivan Viñas, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office spokesman, identified the suspect as Joseph Angcahas, 24, a resident of Fil-Chi, Calaanan in Barangay Canitoan.

Angkahas was identified by witnesses as the one who hacked and killed a certain Christopher.

Executive M/Sgt. Jay Buna assigned at Bulua police station said the victim succumbed to multiple hacked wounds to the body that caused to the latter’s instantaneous death.

Buna said, that prior to the incident the two were having a conversation that resulted in an argument. It was at this point that the suspect pulled out a bolo and hacked the victim several times.

After the incident, Angkahas hurriedly left the area in an unknown direction.

Responding policemen recovered the bolo used in the killing at the house of the suspect.
