Lawyers Rogelio Bagabuyo and Fulgent Thomas Garay said they were set on filing the complaints today.

The lawyers said they would also press charges against members of Iligan’s Task Force Oplan Kandado headed by Glenn Quijoy, Carmen Magyane, lawyer Rejoice Subejano,  National Bureau of Investigation-Iligan chief Alex Caburnay, Steve Librado, Engr. Guideon Taban, retired police Senior Supt. Dimacuta Sanggacala, Pedro Felicilda, and Dr. Cherlina Canaveral.

The two are lawyering for businessman Erwin Malalis, owner of Republic Pharmacy in Iligan, who accused Marzo of violating Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 and of allegedly favoring a group to the disadvantage of the city and despite a lease contract.

Malalis accused Marzo and the others of grave coercion and of violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for public officials.

Bagabuyo and Garay said it started on June 24, 2015 when Marzo had Republic Pharmacy at the Don Gregorio Lluch Memorial Hospital padlocked by the task force allegedly because it did not have building and business permits.

The lawyers said Marzo’s bases for ordering the establishment closed down were false, and Malalis was bent on pursuing a case against the acting mayor and his subordinates.
