Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon mayor Clive Quino hailed new business entities that poured down their investments after a bill was filed in the Lower House to make the town a city.

Quino issued this statement on Monday following the entry of Seven Eleven and Prince Hypermart in the poblacion area and the proliferation of housing subdivisions within their area of responsibility.

He said entry of the new investments shows as the strong indication that the local economy is increasing and now considered as “economic hub” of the Northern Bukidnon area.

“We are now focusing on Tourism and Investments in preparation to become the third city of Bukidnon province. We are now promoting and developing our tourism industry considering that we have tourist destinations like the Dahiliyan, Kampo Juan, Sumasag Cave and common Del Monte plantation,” he said.

He said record shows from the Department of Tourism regional office – 10 shows that Manolo Fortich has the highest number of tourist destinations both local and foreign tourist every year.

He said in order to compliment the area as the highest tourist destinations in the province, he build the so called Manolo Fortich Centennial Plaza as the added attractions of the tourist that are coming and passing-in.

“We want also wanted to have an interactive reactions by setting to have the revival of the so called investments forums originated by former-Representative Coring Acosta wherein national investors comjing from Metro Manila and outside the country were invited,” he added.

Quino said entry of new investors would surely gained in favor to the local government units in Manolo Fortich in terms of business taxes and local employment by offering business tycoons to a friendly and favorable deal with them.

“Share of the Real Property Taxes (RPT) would surely given to the local construction of school buildings and facilities, health centers and other top of the line infrastructure projects. Kini tanan preparation kini aron mahimo na gyud kita nga siyudad,” he claimed.

In August, House Bill 8115 was filed to turn Manolo Fortich into the third component city of Bukidnon. Presently, the province has two cities — Malaybalay which is the province’s capital, and Valencia.

The proposal seeks to turn Manolo Fortich into Region 10’s 10th city. Aside from Cagayan de Oro, Malaybalay and Valencia, other cities in the region are El Salvador and Gingoog in Misamis Oriental, Iligan, Oroquieta, Ozamiz and Tangub in Misamis Occidental.
