Military discover arm cache in Datu Piang

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao — Troops of 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion discovered an arm cache during the conduct of combat clearing operation in Brgy Buayan, Datu Piang, Maguindanao last Thursday at around 7:30 am.

Recovered firearms that placed inside the vacant comfort room at the back of Brgy hall of Brgy Buayan were one M653 carbine, one M653 carbine COLT AR-15, one M203 40MM GL, one cal .45 pistol, one cal .38 pistol and assorted magazines and ammunitions.

Concerned populace reported to the military regarding the presence of the armed group believed to be members of BIFF that prompted our security forces to conduct clearing operation.

“The timely and accurate information provided by the concern civilian led to the recovery of said valuable war materials,” 6ID Commander Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana said.

“We will sustain our commitment to ensure the safety and security of the people in Central Mindanao against the BIFF who sow terror and create fear in the community.” Sobejana added.
