Undersecretary of the Presidential Communication Office Officer (PCOO) Omar Romero on Thursday said military is not enough to end insurgency instead it must to have a “whole nation approach.”

Hindi sapat ang military. For 50 years there’s still (the) NPA. Now (we’re doing) the whole nation approach,” said Romero.

He said the essence of the whole nation approach is the close coordination among national, along with its line agencies, and local governments.

Romero added that it seems that the communist NPAs are not sincere on there peace talks and negotiations.

He then added that “We have to give the basic services of the community and improve livelihood opportunities . Ito po ang ginagawa ngayon “.

This, he said, is in the form of giving the returnees a chance at a new life through livelihood assistance and resettlement communities.
