Provincial Board member and committee chairman Wayne Militante said last Friday that they found several municipalities and even cities in Gingoog and El Salvador has re-classified their area without completing the so-called Comprehensive Land Use Plan (Clup).

Dugay naman kini nga problema nga wala pa nila mahuman ang ilang Clup og daghan na ang misulod nga mga negosyante og investors using agricultural land as commercial and industrial area,” he said.

He said Clup is a planning document prepared by local governments to rationalize the allocation and proper use of land resources. It projects public and private land uses in accordance with the future spatial organization of economic and social activities.

However, he said only few in Misamis Oriental have completed the task in identifying and make proper land use in every cities and municipalities despite assurance coming from the Department of Interior and Local Government in providing technical assistance to the local governments in the preparation of local plans and shall mobilize the local planning structure to prepare this mandated plan.

Dinhi sa atong lugar nagsugod na gyud ang industriya mostly in the second district of Misamis Oriental nga hangtud karon wala pa mahuman ang ilang Clup. Mogawas ang problema kung adunay tinagsa nga reclassification sa matag lugar,” he pointed out.

He said one of the government agency that would serve as a watchdog in the reclassification stage is the Housing Land Use and Regulatory Board that always demand the complete Clup.

“There are a lot of guidelines that need to be followed as City or Municipal Planning and Development Officer should seriously taking it into a major attention and well verse into completing Clup aron dili makatabo og dagko nga problema,” he added.
