Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano personally received this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance Award of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) late last month at the Manila Hotel in Manila. Secretary Francis Tolentino and Cong. Pedro Acharon Jr. were present during the awarding rite.

“As usual, I brought with me my department heads because they are the main actors of this great commendation from the DILG-Central Office. They were the ones who sacrificed their personal concerns…they really worked hard for this. I was just, as always, the anchorman guiding them on what to do,” Emano said.

Emano expressed gratitude to the DILG-Misamis Oriental Provincial Office through Provincial Director Edward Bhagwani for assisting them in completing all the requirements necessary to avail of the DILG’s program on good governance campaign.

Misamis Oriental is just one of the 28 provinces that were able to make it out to the 81 provinces all over the country. Only two-Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental- are from Region 10.

The two towns (Salay and Alubijid and two component cities (Gingoog and El Salvador) are among the awardees of the SGLG in Misamis Oriental.

Governor Emano said the award is embedded with P3 million cash prize which can be used to construct the Capitol’s Pasalubong Center or a Tourism Center at the Capitol Compound “that every time the employees see it, they will be reminded of their hard work and cooperation to achieve the award.”

“…and to inspire them every day as they go to work or visit the Capitol during weekends together with their families and friends,” the governor added. (pio misor)
