AUTHORITIES recaptured a Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail escapee in his hideout in Barangay Mambatangan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon yesterday morning.
Dominador Tagarda, provincial warden, identified the escapee as Jonathan Ramos, 32, who has a drug case.
Tagarda said they were joined by the Cagayan de Oro City Drug Enforcement Unit and Misamis Oriental police when they went out to catch Ramos in Mambatangan.
“Naghigda-higda siya didto sa iyang (hideout). Among gilusob ang iyang hideout,” Tagarda said.
Ramos escaped from the MOPJ in Jan. 4 when he was tasked to throw the prison’s garbage outside the facility.
Ramos said he escaped because he suspected his common law wife was having an affair.
Tagarda said Ramos even went as far as Cebu City in the weeks after his escape.
“Dunay naka hatag info namo nga naka-uli na ang maong (escapee) gikan sa Cebu. Mao ’tong amo siyang gilusob,” Tagarda said.
Tagarda said Ramos would be sent to an isolated cell and both his legs would be chained to prevent him from escaping again. (nitz arancon)
