“These latest additions to service points of the MisOrCares, practically serves a combined population of over 100 thousand in about 24 barangays,” Gov. Emano said.

He further explained that since the MisOrCareS program started over one year and a half ago, his office has constinuously received requests both written and verbal, for the establishment of the said offices.

“While those needing hospitalization are ably served by our Alubijid provincial hospital, patients and their family members find it quite problematic to be commuting from their residences of these towns to have their needs amply served,” Gov. Emano added.

With these offices within their reach, residents do not have to travel to Cagayan de Oro City or Alubijid to avail of services of MisOrCareS.

“We intend to establish MisOrCareS extension offices in every town as the need arises,” Gov. Emano said.

MisOrCareS is a health program initiated by the Governor when he took office, to give better opportunities to the “poorest of the poor” to avail of medical and social services.

It adopts a “zero-billing-zero payment” policy for patients in the eight (8) provincial hospitals. Its social services component gives free coffin, free embalming and free transportation.

As of January 10, MisOrCareS has rendered a total of 607,972 services, of which 72,238 services were given by the provincial hospital in Alubijid t0 which ther catchment of this city and Opol town belong. (pio/advt)
