Miss CDO 2019 Evening Gown Competition

The Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019 – Evening Gown competition was recently concluded last August 17 at the SM CDO Downtown Premier with twelve lovely and gorgeous ladies wearing the creations of this city’s well-known and talented fashion designers of the Oro Fashion Designers Guild — with candidate #6 Cindy Obeñita bringing home five out of ten special awards.

For her opening remark, SM CDO Downtown Premier Mall Manager Evangeline Diton said that they are honored to host the glamorous evening gown competition of Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019.

“Tonight twelve lovely ladies will express their passion for beauty and totality let us welcome them, as they showcase the best long gown collection in the city. Let us take pride as we all together appreciate the beauty talent and intelligent in one elegant expression.

Judging the Evening Gown competitions were City Councilor Atty. Lordan Suan, City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, Atty. Beda Joy Elot, Marivic Yamit, Gabby Bacarro, Ivy Guantero, May Lynn Cainhog, Mary Jane Uy and Lia Andanar Yu.

For her part Committee, Chairperson of Miss Cagayan de Oro Mags Cue expressed her appreciation to her team, to the judges and the sponsors behind the competition. She also congratulated the candidates for reaching this far in the competition.

“Ngayon palang I want to congratulate all the candidates for making it this far. In behalf of the city government of Cagayan de Oro, City Tourism Council, Higalaay Festival, JCI Bai Lawanen Inc, Capt. Gigi Go and Mags. Welcome to a world-class Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019,” she said.

Special certificates were also given to the members of Oro Fashion Designers Guild (OFDG) as official designers of Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019 given by the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual and pageant chair Mags Cue to Juniel Doring, Benjie S Manuel, Ann Semblante, Alquin Cap-Atan, Kiko Domo, Mark Christopher Yaranon, Mavy Cooper Deleon Ladlad , Alma Mae Roa, Ruvil Neri, Joshua Guibone , Gil Macaibay III and Boogie Rivera.

The candidates in their Filipiñana inspired gowns came out one by one striking their most glamorous and confident pose candidate #1 Ana Divica Dimarucut gown was designed by Doring; Tasha Yalung by Manuel; Pauline Pielago by Semblante.

Vincy Vacalares by Cap-Atan; Reese Oguis by Kiko Domo; Cindy Obeñita by Yaranon; Nicole Ramos by Mavy Cooper; Claudine Damasco by Roa; Steffanie Fabre by Neri; Kimberly Magdugo by Guibone; Souarthizae Violon by Macaibay III and Angelica Cudal by Rivera respectively.

Candidate # 6 Cindy Obeñita brought home five out of 10 awards the Miss Detail Makeover, Nature Spring, Natasha, Pacifico Boutique Hotel and The Face of Le Rouge; Candidate # 4 Vincy Vacalares bagged two awards Miss Infinity Dental Smiles and The Artsada Kagay-an Inc., – Artists Choice Award; candidate # 7 Nicole Ramos received two awards, Miss MOPPA, and Kotex; Meanwhile, candidate # 5 Reese Oguis received Miss Casino Ethyl Alcohol.

The Evening Gown competition was hosted by Miss CDO Pageant Director Dense Modestro and reigning Miss Cagayan de Oro Mary Chris Suico. Results of the Evening Gown competition will be announced on the Coronation Night this coming August 24.
