CITY hall yesterday said lawyers of Mayor Oscar Moreno have yet to receive copies of a reported order from the Office of the Ombudsman for the local chief executive to answer a 2016 complaint for plunder.

Maricel Rivera, city hall spokesperson, said, “The lawyers have yet to come up with an official response as they have yet to receive official copies of orders from the Ombudsman, if there’s any. We will issue an official statement at a proper time.

“But obviously, this is another shot of demolition and political harassment perpetrated by Mayor Moreno’s political rivals who have been very cruel to him since he had defeated them in the 2013 elections.”

She said Moreno has been bombarded with a string of cases in a supposed attempt to cripple the Moreno administration so that those who lost in 2013 could regain power in the city.
