Duterte floated the idea of rescheduling the barangay and SK elections during his fourth State-of-the-Nation Address on Monday.

Moreno said he favors the postponement to allow give barangay and SK officials more time to focus on their work to develop their areas rather than on political bickerings in their barangays.

Rodriguez, for his part, said that if he could have his way, the next barangay and SKO elections should be held on Oct. 20, 2022, after the election of the next President.

“Bag-o pa man nag-election ang barangay niadtong milabay nga tuig, mas maayo nga ang  ilang sunod election sa Oct. 20, 2022,” said Rodriguez who has been proposing to stretch the office terms of barangay and SK officials to four years.
