MAYOR Oscar Moreno would be using a reenacted budget for city hall’s operation next year, a councilor bared yesterday.

Councilor George Goking said this would be most likely because the 18th city council this month failed to approve Moreno’s P6.5-billion proposed budget.

Goking, who chairs the committee on ways and means and trade and commerce said Moreno will start using the reenacted budget on Jan. 1, next year and will continue to do so until the city council approves the proposed budget.

However, he did not give any specific date when the city council would approve the proposed budget but only said that they will resume their regular session on Jan. 7.

Goking explained that the city council was not able to approve Moreno’s proposed budget because they were approving the city’s Annual Investment Plan.

The Annual Investment Plan is a preequisite of the Department Budget and Management before the city council could approve the city’s annual budget.

Dili man mahimo nga among dunganon  sulod sa usa ka bulan ang pag-approve sa AIP ug ang proposed budget. Ang AIP among gi-approve niadto pang December 17,” Goking said.

He added that they were delayed because they have to study the city’s annual investment plan before approval.
