City legislators on the regular session Monday has enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Undertaking (MOU) with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) covering the implementation of Farm-to-Market Road projects in the total amount of P2.7M representing the city’s 10% counterpart.

The projects include the concreting of FMRs of Barangays Tignapoloan (P10M), Lumbia (P5M), Mambuaya FMR (P6M), and Bayanga (P6M), The Power learned.

Under the MOU, the DPWH shall cause the preparation of Program of Works (POWs) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED), shall consider the 10% counterpart of the city (P2.7M) and secure Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) of Certificate of Non-Coverage (CNC) if applicable, among others.

For its part, the city shall download its counterpart fund to the DPWH-CDOC 1st District Engineering Office upon approval of the MOU through a funding check. It shall also monitor the project implementation of the said FMR projects and maintain the good road condition after completion and turn-over of the DPWH, among others.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on agriculture and fisheries, finance, budget and appropriations and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Annie Y. Daba, Edna M. Dahino and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya. (SP)
