DIGOS CITY — A musician died of a fatal gunshot wound to the head after an unidentified gunman shot the victim at close range along Sacred Heart Avenue, this city on Monday night.
Senior Inspector Renfredo Dacalos, Digos City deputy police for operation identified the victim as Michael Semilla 1, 40, a resident of Barangay Cebuley, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. He has a twin brother named Michael Semilla 11, also a music vocalist. The police said Semilla was about to enter an internet cafe’ when the suspect riding a motorcycle fired a handgun hitting the victim’s head that led to his instant death.
Dacalos said investigators are looking into a love triangle as the possible motive behind the killing since Semilla has no known derogatory records aside from being known a ‘womanizer’.
Semilla was said to be frequenting the said internet cafe’ after his chores in a KTV bar along Rizal Avenue in Digos City. “The suspect could have patterned his routine during an after his band performances,” Dacalos said.
Police investigators is looking into reports that Semilla engaged in a verbal tussle with a still unidentified man involving a woman.
“As of now nobody is talking, but in due time we could trace the real thing about this case,” Dacalos said.
