Barotas said Allado was shot to the head while filling up his car fuel tank at a gas station in Barangay Poblacion, Wao at about 1:30 p.m. He died instantly.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

After the shooting, Barotas said, the killer fled on a motorcycle that was driven by a companion.

Barotas said Allado survived a murder attempt last year when unidentified men hurled a grenade at his home.

Two of his supporters were killed in the grenade attack.

Last year, Allado claimed received death threats from a still unidentified armed group. He said the threats to his life were politically motivated.

In 2006, he was arrested, and jailed after he alleged shot four persons.

Former North Cotabato governor Emmanuel Pinol had fetched Allado from his home in Banisilan, and had him locked him up at the Amas provincial jail, following the shootings.
