THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration (PDEA) arrested a couple from Lanao del Sur during an undercover operation in a hotel in Divisoria, this city, on Tuesday night.
The PDEA-10 identified the suspects as Muhammad Macaraub or Alahar Calaca and his pregnant partner Freda Mae Lavalle of Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
They were arrested in Room 201 of Grand Hotel during a buy-and-bust operation at around 8:50 pm on Tuesday.
PDEA said the suspects used a store as a front, making it appear that they were in the city to buy grocery items for their establishment.
PDEA said the suspects were caught with a sachet of suspected shabu.
Macaraub, PDEA said, was No. 9 in their list here.
“Dugay na kaayo ni sila namo giplanohan dakpon pero mga abtik kaayo. Didto ni sila pirmi sa Iligan ug Marawi, talagsa ra diri sa Cagayan de Oro,” an undercover agent said.
Macaraub confessed to be a drug dealer and said his shabu source is based in Marawi City.
The couple is currently detained at the PDEA-10 mini-cell here, pending formal filing of charges. (Joey Nacalaban)
