AUTHORITIES arrested two men and seized nearly P7 million worth of suspected shabu in Marawi City on Thursday.

Juvenal Azurin, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said the operation took place in Poblacion, Marawi at around 3:25 pm, and it resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P6.8 million.

Azurin said PDEA agents posed as buyers leading to the arrest of Alexander Dayondong Aliponto of Tamparan, Lanao del Sur, and Adam Pandiin a.k.a. Titing of Marawi City.

They were immediately handcuffed.

PDEA said Marawi Mayor Majul Gandambra and other local officials witnessed the seizure.

Teams from the Marawi Police Station, Regional Mobile Force Company PNP Maritime group and 103rd Infantry Brigade joined the operation. (Ferdinandh Cabrera, Mindanews)
