Wilkins Villanueva, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said two suspects were arrested. They were identified as 40-year-old Mahdi Lucas Mapandi a.k.a. Mapandi Michael Lucas, of Sagrayan, Lanao del Sur, and 25-year-old Cosary Amintao Azis a.k.a. Mama Arab, of Matampay, Marawi, Lanao del Sur.

Mapandi, according to Villanueva, was the subject of the buy-and-bust operation carried out by PDEA together with the Iligan police.

Villanueva said the entrapment resulted in the confiscation of a packet of suspected shabu that weighed some 250 grams.

He said authorities used P1-thousand bill and pieces of paper that were made to look like a bundle of cash in the entrapment.

The suspects, taken and detained at the PDEA office, are facing a case for their alleged involvement in the drug trade.
