Some 78 of 83 prosecutors in the region submitted themselves to drug tests at Grand Caprice in Limketkai center.

Regional State Prosecutor Jaime Umpa said the drug tests were made in time for the quarterly conference of prosecutors in the region in line with President Duterte’s war on drugs and Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II’s order to subject all prosecutors and their staffs to drug tests before year-end.

Umpa said prosecutors who would test positive for drug use would be prosecuted.

But he said those who test positive would be subjected to confirmatory examinations by the PDEA in Metro Manila before administrative and criminal cases are filed against them.
