The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-10) has issued ultimatum against another person engaged in Ponzi Scheme who has victimized more than a hundred of person not only in Cagayan de Oro but also in Misamis Oriental.

Lawyer Alex Cabornay, J.D., NBI-10 head agent and the main agent-on-case handling the online scam cases has issued public notice against a certain Vanessa Almazan Layam. 

Cabornay said the issuance of his public notice came after two more suspected people involved on the alleged online scam surrendered and now under custody at his office.

He said last Friday another criminal complaints for Large Scale Estafa/Swindling and Violation of the Cybercrime Act of 2012 (RA 10175), were filed and already received by the City Prosecutor’s Office against the following:

1. Wenchelmie Acosta (under custody/surrendered)

2. Mary Ann Villapa (under custody/surrendered.

“As I have said, there will be more (and numerous) other cases of this online investment scam to be filed and to follow through regular filing, now that inquest cases were already filed against all the suspects who are currently in the custody of the NBI,” he said.

Also under custody with the NBI-10 office are Antonette Pacana Sestoso and Rhea Vallejos.

“Take note also, one Vanessa Almazan Layam, you must appear in my office ASAP (by Monday) before I will order an intense surveillance and other enforcement action (her),” he said.

Cabornay said complainants are advised to take note through his facebook postings or through text messages for the formal taking of Sworn Statements by NBI-10 agents.

“Some of you will be contacted by my designated aide through your (cellphones) today [Monday] for the preparation of your formal statements/affidavit-complaints and the supporting pieces of evidence. Kalma lang ug ayaw mo kataranta kaayo (because) whether you like it or not, it is there already – the reality and the stormy situation of your life, but it will soon be resolved and you must move on,” Cabornay told the victims.
