Iligan City — Two women, as of press time, have undergone inquest proceedings as a result of their use of fake titles as collaterals on some loans.

Lawyer Abdul Jamal Dimaporo, Chief of the National Bureau of Investigations here yesterday said they arrested on Sept. 5, Shiela Ungab, a teacher of the city central school here and a resident of Paitan, Dalipuga for using a fake title for a house and lot for securing a loan of P200 thousand.

Her partner, a certain  Omisa Jay Pasandalan of Purok Sudlonon, San Miguel had the same modus and for which a loan was secured for P130 thousand was also nabbed hours later. The victim was Emma Cabornay Ave, sister of the late Atty. Alex Cabornay of NBI.

The said modus was discovered when the victim went to the Register of Deeds to have the titles annotated for the transactions, and where the discovery of the titles being fake. The suspects are expected to post bail for their temporary liberty.
