THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) would start implementing the P30 flag-down rate for all taxis here this Saturday.
Mandangan Darimbang, LTFRB regional director, said he already received a memorandum circular from LTFRB central office ordering the implementation of the P30 flag-down rate from P40.
Based on the new order, taxis are also mandated to charge P3.50 for every succeeding 500 meters and after every 90 seconds of waiting time.
LTFRB also announced airport taxis would have a permanent P60-flag-down rate. Its running time rate is P4 for every 90 seconds.
Darimbang said meter calibration is scheduled next month for taxis with plate numbers ending in 4, 9 and 2; the calibration for taxis with plate numbers ending in 5, 7 and 0 would be in May.
Taxis with plate numbers ending in 1, 3, 6, and 8 would be calibrated in June.15
