SURIGAO City — The police office here have confiscated units of illegal electronic gambling machines, locally known as chololots, in different parts of this city on Friday.

Newly installed Officer-in-charge, Supt. Noel E. Silvosa, directed the Intelligence Operatives to conduct simultaneous raids against illegal gambling in the city.

Silvosa said the illegal gambling machines were displayed conspiciously on the residences and seen by the police operatives at Roxas corner Gimena Streets, Barangay Washington, and at Friendship Bridge in Barangay Sabang. However, the owners of the houses were not around when the raids were conducted.

The confiscated nine units of chololots were immediately brought to Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition and cases against the owner of the houses are now being prepared for regular filing before the court.
